Paying for David Frum’s failures
David Frum, staff writer at the Atlantic, headlined his April 7 article about COVID-19 “This Is Trump’s Fault” and sub-headlines it “The president is failing, and Americans are paying for his failures.”
Frum distorts from paragraph one because he knows his audience laps up misrepresentations.
“By the end of March, the coronavirus had killed more Americans than the 9/11 attacks. By the first weekend in April, the virus had killed more Americans than any single battle of the Civil War. By Easter, it may have killed more Americans than the Korean War. On the present trajectory, it will kill, by late April, more Americans than Vietnam.”
We can blame the deaths of many Americans upon Democratic Party policies even before abortion is mentioned.
LA suffered the deaths of 918 homeless people last year. 404 jobless and homeless people died in New York. Overall, 13,000 Americans die on the rat infested and diseased American streets full of hypodermic needles every year.
Where is Frum’s concern about that fact? I lay the homeless problem at the feet of Democrats -- they are the ones who emptied mental institutions. Republicans don’t agree at all with policies that hand out drug money and needles to people who can’t cope with real life, let alone life as a permanent junkie and ward of the state.
Mull that figure over: 1,300 deaths a year, Mr. Frum.
Let’s multiply it by the last five years. It comes out to 6,500 deaths. That’s more than any battle of the Civil War except Gettysburg – and nearly matching that.
It is way more than the number of citizens who died on 9/11. Rack that up David – 2,977 on that day, compared to the innumerable homeless who have perished at the hands of Democratic policies over the last 21 years.
Americans suffered 2,400 casualties at Omaha Beach. Democratic polices knock off that many in a year and a half.
What ails those poor people stuck in tent cities in places like Seattle? Why, they don’t have jobs. No job, no hope.
How many people have lost their jobs during the COVID-19 civil rights shutdown?
Over 7,000,000 citizens have lost their jobs, Mr. Frum.
And I know you don’t care because they can all move to the streets of some Democratic Party run city and get the same treatment Democrats provide to the homeless; not a hand up but a shovel down.
That’s some policy your party has there, Frum.
