Joe Biden lectures Rush Limbaugh about 'decency and honor'
In the annals of piggishness, not much beats what's coming out of Joe Biden's mouth about Rush Limbaugh and "decency."
According to Fox News:
Democratic hopeful Joe Biden slammed conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh as undeserving of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and criticized President Trump's motives for awarding it at the State of the Union on Tuesday night.
Biden, speaking to CNN's Anderson Cooper at a town hall event in New Hampshire on Wednesday, said Trump's decision to award the highest civilian honor in the nation to Limbaugh was "driven more by trying to maintain [his] right-wing political credentials than it is anything else."
...and...
"I mean, if you read some of the things that Rush has said, about people, their backgrounds, their ethnicity, how he speaks to them... I don't think he understands the American code of decency and honor," Biden said. "But look, this is Donald Trump."
This, coming from him, is akin to hearing the word "love" from the mouth of a whore, to paraphrase maybe G.K. Chesterton.
CNN has the actual video, beginning with Biden's guffaw-filled mocking sign of the cross, here.
Biden, man of Burisma, is lecturing Limbaugh on decency?
Same guy who fat-shamed an old farmer in Iowa? Same guy who merited a whole chapter on corruption in Peter Schweizer's Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America's Progressive Elite? Same guy who mocked Indian-American gas station–owners' accents, and called Barack Obama acceptable as a black president because he was "articulate and bright and clean"? Same man who praised working side-by-side with racial segregationists? Same man who told a black audience Republicans are going to "put y'all back in chains"?
Same creepy Joe who can't keep his hands off unwilling little girls? Same creepy Joe who skinny-dipped to the disgust of his Secret Service detail? Same creepy Joe who grabbed and groped a Nevada lieutenant gubernatorial candidate and other young women, and then made light of it as something from his "generation"?
Hearing any talk of "decency and honor" coming from this guy is utterly repulsive.
Three other things stand out about this disgusting excuse for a presidential candidate:
One, Biden smeared Limbaugh as a racist, which is a common trope of the left. Limbaugh has never engaged in racism, not once, which is something that would be known only to his listeners, of which Biden is not one — if for nothing else, then because if he did, the FEC would shut his show down, the racism charge is simply slander.
Biden did it to whip up the black vote for himself because his own history of racist remarks is pretty significant.
Two, Biden argued that there was something unusual about Trump bestowing the award on Limbaugh, calling it a move to shore up his political base. This is grade-A manure, and all you have to do is take a look at President Obama's record.
Here's the list of Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients — and on Obama's watch we see partisans, fat cats, political allies, social justice warriors, and hyper-partisans of the left such as Ellen deGeneres, Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Meryl Streep, Bruce Springsteen, Babs Streisand, Warren Buffett, Ben Bradley, Tom Brokaw, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Harvey Milk, Dolores Huerta, Gloria Steinem, Billie Jean King, John H. Adams, John Dingell, Mary Robinson (Ireland), Angela Merkel (Germany), Desmond Tutu (South Africa). Plus Biden himself.
Virtually all of them are leftists, and most of them are rabid leftists. One, Harvey Milk, was even a bona fide sex predator, according to this account by Matt Margolis in PJ Media.
It could be argued that this long list of leftists includes people who have achieved merit in their fields regardless of their politics — acting, broadcasting, business, etc.
Well, Limbaugh has done the same — he was a pioneer of talk radio, and even lefty talk radio hosts have benefited as a result of the format he created. The list of awards Limbaugh's won, on merit alone, is prestigious and long. According to Fox:
Limbaugh, 69, began "The Rush Limbaugh Show" in 1988 and has won a number of awards, including the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award for "Excellence in Syndicated and Network Broadcasting" five times.
What Biden is saying, then, is that conservatives cannot be honored for anything on merit, solely on the grounds that they are conservative — an offensive message targeting all conservatives, not just Limbaugh — which is exactly why voters elected Trump.
Here's the last thing: Biden puts himself out there as Mister Compassionate — his wife died in a car crash; his son died of cancer. He even promises to cure cancer if he's elected president, though based on that last exclusion for conservatives for awards, probably not for Rush.
Now he's kicking Limbaugh when he's down.
Biden paid lip service, of course, to the idea that really, truly, he felt all lugubriously sympathetic and compassionate about Limbaugh's cancer diagnosis, which of course is why Trump rushed to give Limbaugh the award in the wake of his likely fatal lung cancer diagnosis. Biden now chooses a time like this to say Limbaugh doesn't deserve the award, but rest assured, he's all empathetic?
It's downright crap, given his hypocrisy on decency, his lies about Limbaugh, and his view that conservatives are to be excluded from presidential honors. It's in fact the mark of a petty petty, very small man.
As a coda, let's bring up decency again. Limbaugh doesn't wear it on his sleeve, but it's known that he performs a lot of private acts of decency and compassion to the less fortunate without telling anyone. Does Biden do anything of the sort? Absolutely not, because word of it would have gotten out. For him to be lecturing Limbaugh on decency and honor therefore is the height of obscenity.
This creep really deserves an amazing electoral beating now that his campaign is moving into oblivion. Unlike Biden, Rush will always be remembered and honored.
