#BloombergIsRacist trends away on Twitter

With the Democratic Party nomination rapidly coming down to Bernie Sanders and Mike Bloomberg, Bernie's allies (or maybe the pro-Sanders Russian bots) have started a #BloombergIsRacist trend on Twitter.

Someone's dug up these tapes on Michael Bloomberg to shock the locals:

This is kind of amusing to see, because Democrats now are so woke and politically correct.  How someone like Tom Perez is going to explain bending the rules to let Bloomberg into the Democratic debates now with that going around will be a be popcorn-worthy question.

According to NewsOne:

The edited, minute-long clip from a speech Bloomberg gave to the Aspen Institute in 2015 echoed his other previous defenses of "stop and frisk," an unconstitutional policing tactic that disproportionately targeted Black and brown people — a policy for which he is widely credited with being the architect and chief enforcer during his three terms leading New York City. On the clip, which undoubtedly was uploaded and circulated online by some of Bloomberg's political rivals, features Bloomberg espousing some damningly racist rhetoric about how he identifies criminals.

"Ninety-five percent of murders — murderers and murder victims fit one M.O. You can just take a description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all the cops," Bloomberg can be heard saying in his unmistakable and signature nasal tone. "They are male, minorities, 16-25. That's true in New York, that's true in virtually every city (inaudible). And that's where the real crime is. You've got to get the guns out of the hands of people that are getting killed."

To be clear, stop-and-frisk has had a damaging legacy that continues unchecked to this day and has been touted by President Donald Trump as something police officers should do more of. With that as the underlying context, Bloomberg continued with his speech.

He went on in the same speech to say cities much "spend the money to put a lot of cops on the streets." Put those cops where the crime is, which means minority neighborhoods. Bloomberg then defended "arresting kids for marijuana that are all minorities."

This is about par for Bloomberg — roughly a New York-style blunt realist but, unlike President Trump, possessing a startlingly inhuman view of his fellow human beings.  Bloomberg ought to be blaming the state for the reality of crime in the black community, but he'd rather blame blacks instead, which lets the state off easy.  You don't see this kind of talk from President Trump, whose approval ratings among blacks is soaring.

Bloomie, recall, has a lot of inhuman stuff in his political baggage.  He has also been caught paying off women for sexist remarks and the hostile work environment he created at Bloomberg News, telling an employee with an inconvenient pregnancy to "kill it" with an abortion, calling for fingerprinting and cataloguing welfare recipients, and declaring poor people specially taxable because they might spend their money on booze and junk food and he can't allow that to happen.

Remember this one?

Now it's blacks who are inconvenient to him, and with some accurate stats about black crime, he manages to make crime some kind of thing intrinsic to blacks instead of a problem of the pathologies of fatherless homes and the welfare state, both big-government problems that bring the kinds of problems seen in the black community anywhere they are tried.  But Bloomberg is blaming blacks.

Here's a black Twitterer last Jan. 30 pointing to the problem with Bloomberg's big-state cure-alls:

This is a self-created problem for Democrats, given that they just can't get away from Big State solutions for everything.  Put a market shark like Bloomberg in that mix, and don't be surprised to see a whole lot of racist baggage coming out of the woodwork.
