Whoa! GOP does not have 51 votes to dismiss?

How imbecilic are those Republicans trying to make a name for themselves by supporting the unconstitutional Schiff/Pelosi articles of impeachment?

Beyond polite description.

Susan Collins, Rob Portman, probably the self-serving Mitt Romney, are all trying to be the biggest monkey wrenches in an already ridiculous endeavor to remove President Trump from office.  Each of them should just admit he is a Democrat at heart and switch parties.  How else to explain their betrayal of their own party?  Poor judgment is one thing, like Matt Gaetz voting for Pelosi's meaningless resolution to limit Trump's ability to counteract Iran.  That was just dumb, a hopefully momentary lapse.  As for the rest of them, they are idiotic, masters of their own demise.  If they fail to realize that Donald Trump is the most successful, most popular president in decades, perhaps ever, they do not have the requisite brains to hold public office.

If they do not realize by now that the impeachment over a boring phone conversation with the president of Ukraine is as big a hoax as the Russia-collusion story from the outset, they are too dim to have any political power in the Republican Party.  Send them over to the Democrats where they belong.  While Republicans are often the stupid party, Democrats are the evil party; they support terrorists like Qassem Soleimani and brutal tyrannies like those in Iran and Venezuela.  Trump has trolled them into defending the indefensible.

Who among us knows what Mitch McConnell has up his sleeve?  Let us hope he has a plan to demolish the Dems' specious plan to impeach, a plan that was hatched before Donald Trump was even inaugurated.  McConnell should have dismissed both unconstitutional articles the minute Pelosi refused to send them to the Senate.  Bad faith is just that, bad faith — an obvious reason to do away with them.

As Trump's popularity grows, the Dems have doubled down into the realm of insanity.  Why even one Republican would join them is an exercise in self-destruction.  They either think Twitter represents the American voter or are simply dumb.  Susan Collins's fine speech in defense of Judge Brett Kavanaugh was a ray of hope, but alas, she has reverted to her former fence-sitting on all things conservative.  Like Meghan Markle, she craves affection and approval from all corners, even the uninformed who have no sense of Trump's many successes that have benefited them.  The same goes for Lisa Murkowski.  Like Collins, she is not a conservative and loves the headlines she gets when she betrays her party.  Rob Portman is a surprise defector.

The Democratic party has morphed from what it was in the JFK days to something Castro (if he were alive) and Vladimir Putin could embrace.  Bernie Sanders is currently leading the Democrat ticket; he is an avowed Marxist and Communist.  Every Democrat running for the presidency seriously means to transform America into something it was never meant to be.  All of them have extreme contempt for those of us who support Trump; we are rubes, ignorant, racist, etc.  They want to abolish the electoral college in order to disenfranchise the voters in middle America whom they so disdain.  They are, in two words, a bad bunch.  As has been observed over and over again, they hate Trump far more than they love their country.  And now a few Republicans in the Senate are joining their noxious club.  Shame on them.

No amount of wishful thinking will make the Democrats' dreams of impeachment come true.  But the process will flush out the Republican turncoats, and they will likely be soon defeated.  Both Schiff and Pelosi have become embarrassments to their party and their districts.  Collins, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, and any other Republicans who think pretending to be on the right side of the law will hold them in good stead are mistaken.  Their duplicity will be its own reward.  This much is true: Trump has an uncanny ability to make his opponents reveal their lack of character, their real agendas.  He got them, all of them — in Congress and throughout the left media — to support Soleimani, the most genocidal terrorist on the planet, and the tyrants of Iran.  How clever is that?  The man is a genius.  He loves his country, and, despite the incoherent fury of the radical left, the American people love him.  Those misguided Republicans who think they will be celebrated for their phony bipartisanship should all be gone soon for they are not in touch with their constituents.  "There are only two sides to this question.  Every man must be for the United States or against it.  There can be no neutrals in this war; only patriots and traitors" (Stephen Douglas).

The Democrat Party of today is truly traitorous.  These people mean to destroy America as founded and remake it into their perverted version of an authoritarian, statist nightmare.
