Marianne Williamson drops out of the Democrat Party primary
It was always a quixotic effort, but we have to admit that we’re sad to see Marianne Williamson formally announce that she is dropping out of the running to become the Democrat Party presidential candidate. Not only was she amusing; for a brief moment, she was willing to swallow the red pill, before regurgitating and return to her Leftist political roots.
Williamson announced her formal withdrawal from the race in a long message she posted Friday on her campaign website:
I ran for president to help forge another direction for our country. I wanted to discuss things I felt needed to be discussed that otherwise were not. I feel that we have done that.
I stayed in the race to take advantage of every possible opportunity to share our message. With caucuses and primaries now about to begin, however, we will not be able to garner enough votes in the election to elevate our conversation any more than it is now. The primaries might be tightly contested among the top contenders, and I don’t want to get in the way of a progressive candidate winning any of them.
As of today, therefore, I’m suspending my campaign.

From the first day she stepped out on the debate stage, Marianne Williasom was the hippie whom time forgot. Most of the time she spoke with the earnestness of a stoned preacher on the corner of Haight and Ashbury in 1967. “Love, man . . . yeah, that will heal the world. Just more love and maybe some health-giving flowers for America’s inner being. I’ll drop love bombs on Kim Jong-un and the Mullahs. Even our archest of arch enemies, Donald Trump, will feel the healing power of my love deep in his evil soul. Nameste, America. Peace.” Everyone has to remember her take on the Flint Water crisis and beyond:
What kept Williamson from being completely amusing was the fact that, behind her crystal and flowers shtick was a garden variety Leftist advancing the same policies as all the other candidates. A stroll through her campaign website revealed that she embraced Democrat ideas and proposed Democrat (i.e., expensive, big government) solutions. Her issues page on climate change is worth looking at this to emphasize that point.
Still, Williamson had moments of blazing honesty, which is why conservatives had a soft spot for her. In an unguarded moment, she was caught on hot mic identify Leftists for the bullies they are:
.@marwilliamson: “What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? I’m a serious lefty but they are so — I understand why people on the right called them godless — I mean, it’s like, I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right, they are.” pic.twitter.com/0iXkWPRdAW

What does it say that Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties are? What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? "It's such a bizarre world. You know I'm such a lefty. I mean, I'm a serious lefty but they are so -- I understand why people on the Right called them godless. I mean, it’s like, I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right . . . they are.
Williamson never had a chance in the Democrat primaries, but she was definitely fun while she lasted.
