Will the Sandernistas wake up and realize they’ve been conned?

The Wikileaks publication of transcripts of Hillary Clinton’s speeches in which she proclaimed her “dream” of open borders and open trade, and in which she admitted a separation from the loves of the middle class ought to have caused Bernie Sanders to revoke his endorsement of Hillary Clinton. After all, he demanded those transcripts, and now they turn out to be as incriminating as his supporters might have theorized. Fat chance.

"Whatever Secretary Clinton may or may not have said behind closed doors on Wall Street, I am determined to implement the agenda of the Democratic Party platform which was agreed upon by her campaign," he said in a statement.

"Among other things, that agenda calls for breaking up the largest financial institutions in this country, re-establishing Glass-Steagall and prosecuting those many Wall Street CEOs who engaged in illegal behavior."

The aging socialist now has three houses to maintain, and a Senator’s salary does not go that far. He needs the good graces of Hillary Clinton, or so he thinks. It was a lot of fun being self-righteous on the stump, but now is the time for ol’ Bern to look out for number one. Just the way his wife walked away from the college she headed with a six-figure settlement, check cashed well before the place went into bankruptcy.

Something very similar is going on here. Bernie is delivering his idealistic and naïve supporters into the clutches of a corrupt politician in bed with Wall Street who talks about one thing in public and another in private.

One thing about young people is that they are very suspicious of phonies and hypocrites.  It is time to laugh at and deride Bernie Sanders as a con man who’s sold out to Hillary.
