Political correctness infecting 9-11 memorial
On September 11, 2016, we have the 15th anniversary of the Islamist terrorist attack on our country. We are planning a visit to the National Park at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where Flight 93 was crashed by the brave Americans who rushed the terrorists to prevent the plane from striking Washington, D.C.
There is not one word on the government website that Islamist terrorists hijacked the four planes, including the one that crashed in Shanksville, about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh. The website says the planes were hijacked but does not say who hijacked them. The site says 3,000 people "tragically lost their lives." They did not "lose" their lives. The 3,000 Americans were murdered by Islamist terrorists.
But there is much information about how the park was built to meet sustainability standards.
The Obama administration, including Hillary Clinton, consistently refused to identify the terrorists as Muslim terrorists. Now they to refuse to say on the website of the memorial park that the 3,000 Americans were murdered by Islamists terrorists who hijacked the four planes.
Reading the website, one who does not know history or current events, such as many Democrat voters for Obama and Hillary, would have no way of knowing that Muslim terrorists hijacked the four planes that killed 3,000 Americans. This is political correctness on steroids. It is like saying bombs fell at Pearl Harbor and Americans tragically lost their lives.
Following is the relevant language from the site:
On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, the U.S. came under attack when four commercial airliners were hijacked and used to strike targets on the ground. Nearly 3,000 people tragically lost their lives. Because of the actions of the 40 passengers and crew aboard one of the planes, Flight 93, the attack on the U.S. Capitol was thwarted.
