Can Monty Python rescue Hillary?

In the days ahead, as it becomes more and more apparent that Hillary Clinton’s medical condition is serious enough to perhaps warrant withdrawing from the race, a chorus of sycophants in the media can be expected to downplay the situation.

Downplay how? The famous and hilarious (no pun intended) “it’s just a flesh wound” sketch from Monty Python and The Holy Grail comes to mind.

Outright denial despite overwhelming evidence being a favorite Clinton ploy, another Monty Python masterpiece, the Dead Parrot sketch, might also get a run in the media.

As the saying goes, this would be funny if it weren’t sad.

Evidently Democrats believed they would have an easy time defeating Bush, Rubio, or Cruz – the most likely opponents early on – and didn’t think they had to bother with a medical clearance for Hillary Clinton, usually required for a government job.

The situation changed dramatically with the rise of Donald Trump and the sort of pressure he applied to defeat all GOP contenders. Hillary’s health issues got worse when she saw she would be facing a determined and fearless opponent who speaks his mind.

What impact this is likely to have on the upcoming debates is unclear. Will they be postponed? Will there be fewer of them? Will they not last as long? Will the panelists take it easy on Hillary because of her “delicate condition”? Will Trump back off and turn into Romney2.0?

Only The Shadow knows.
