So fifty Republican "national security experts" have disavowed Trump as a candidate for the presidency.  Presumably, Republican voters are to take from this that we must not vote for him.  They claim he would be "reckless." 

How do they know this?  While defending Trump is not a comfortable position to take for most conservatives, how are these self-described experts so certain of this?  He has never held political office.  His entire life has been spent in the business world – not just business, but the business of building things, creating jobs for tens of thousands of people around the world.  A few ventures failed; most did not.  But none of those experts has a clue as to how he would operate as president.  They are speculating.  That is all they can do.  That is all any of us can do.  They can get together and gang up with a group letter.  Their little ploy, one can only assume, is to get Hillary elected.

What does this tell us about these people?  First of all, it tells us they were never conservatives.  No conservative would write, say, do a single thing that would facilitate the election of Hillary Clinton, a known liar, a woman bereft of a moral compass.  Having been part of the most elite government agencies their entire lives, they know only too well how corrupt the Clintons are and have always been.  They are willing to sell their souls for what?  Plum jobs in a Clinton administration?  Not likely.  It is more likely that their motivation is their instinctive protection of the D.C. establishment, among which there is little difference between Democrats and Republicans.  They all just want to protect their turf.  This letter proves it.

Where were these men these past eight years, while President Obama's policy of "leading from behind" has caused chaos around the world?  When Hillary took on Libya as her personal project, thinking it would boost her into the presidency?  Have they written a group letter about her endangering of our national security with her unsecured server?  Is her irresponsibility the cause of the Benghazi attack and the death of those four Americans?  For the death of nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri in Iran, whose name she revealed in an unsecured email?  Everything they say about Trump is already true of Obama and Hillary!  Where are all their op-eds, their official letters in opposition to their extreme recklessness?  They don't exist.  They did not write them. 

What does this letter by these self-described experts mean to Trump supporters, to those who are on the fence and to those who loathe both candidates?  It just may tip them over the edge toward Trump.  With our national security at the lowest point since 9/11, these folks do not have much credibility.  If this gaggle of so-called experts wants us to vote for Hillary, they just may cinch the election for Trump.
