Some remarkable video below that shows police storming the CNN-Turkey broadcasting studios to arrest soldiers taking part in the coup.

Losing the last media source they controlled at the start of the coup was the killer. With Erdogan in charge of the media, the rebel's message couldn't get out and communication between rebel units  became much harder. 

It was the beginning of the end for the plotters.
