Looks as if Pence will be Trump’s VP
This is a sign Trump is attempting to close the deal with Mike Pence. Jonathan Swan of The Hill:
Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner met with Pence at his Indianapolis home Wednesday morning, according to NBC News. Donald Trump himself joined them shortly after.
No way would Trump’s family advisors all be there without an offer on the table. With Trump, everything is a deal, so we don’t know what is being negotiated. But Pence has every incentive to strike a deal, because he faces a tough re-election fight.
Trump, who has been toying with the public over his VP pick, spent time with Pence on Tuesday at fundraisers, followed by dinner at the Conrad Hotel in Indianapolis, according to Bloomberg Politics.
Evidently it went so well that Trump had the young’uns hop aboard one of his fleet of jets and meet him and the guv in Indy.
The Washington Times said two days ago that is was 95% probable that Pence would be the nominee. Another person predicting this was Lee Cary, who noted:
A POTUS Trump won’t want to live in DC for more than 4 years – the house is too small – and Pence, age 55, is young enough to run in 2020. Gingrich is 73 – 18 years older and too old to be a candidate in 2020. Newt would make a good Chief of Staff. Flynn – Secretary of Defense or National Security Advisor.
Thinking ahead in this fashion is presidential, a quality Trump is often criticized for lacking.
