Testing the Planet Fitness open bathroom policy in West Texas
Planet Fitness passed a recent test of their open bathroom policy in West Texas.
West Texas is one of the five, geographically-diverse states of Texas.
Its land is largely barren, semi-arid and widely unpopulated – discounting cattle, coyote and rattlesnakes.
Native West Texans are, as a general rule, unashamedly honest, patriotic and hard-working.
West Texas is, arguably, the most conservative part of a conservative state. For now, anyway, since the neoprogs are aggressively trying to turn Texas to a Blue state. But that’s another story.
While visiting there recently, I tested the Planet Fitness “gender identify policy” as it applies to their bathrooms, which double as shower rooms.
According to snopes.com, the claim is mostly false that, “Planet Fitness issued a policy in April 2016 allowing men to use women's locker rooms and women to use men's locker rooms.”
After exercising as a guest at a Planet Fitness facility in a significant West Texas city, I paused to query the college-aged man working the desk. “I’m feeling kind of girlie today,” I said, “so can I use the women’s bathroom?”
To be honest, I really wasn’t feeling girlie that day. In fact, I’ve never felt girlie any day, though I have nothing against males who periodically, or routinely, do so feel.
I confess that when the Monty Python TV show was popular I knew the lyrics to the Lumber Jack song. But I never sang them in public. And, when I did so in private, it was with no intent to ridicule any person or persons who claim a gender identity dissimilar from their birth-certification gender designator.
The young man behind the Planet Fitness desk in the West Texas town said, “What?” So, I repeated my question.
Maintaining solid eye contact, the obviously well-trained desk clerk replied, “You can use the bathroom of whatever gender with which you identify.”
I thanked him, and left.
Even had I wanted to use the women’s bathroom, I would not have done so. There were a few fit women there who could have seriously hurt me.
