The NRA makes Hillary sick, but we've got the cure!
Hillary Clinton is sick! Perhaps finally we have an explanation for her concussions and fainting spells:
A day after the deadly shootings in Oregon, Hillary Rodham Clinton used a campaign appearance here on Friday to begin an impassioned attack on the National Rifle Association and Republican members of Congress who she said did the group's bidding.
"It is sickening to me," she told a crowd of supporters packed into a gymnasium on the campus of Broward College here. "People should not have to be afraid to go to college like this one, or to a movie theater, or to Bible study. What is wrong with us that we can't stand up to the N.R.A.?"
In a slightly hoarse voice, Mrs. Clinton said that with so many weapons in the hands of "too many people who should never have gotten guns in the first place," it was almost inevitable that some people were acting out their fury "or whatever their problems are" by killing other people.
Mrs. Clinton doesn't explain what legislation would separate the people who shouldn't have guns from the people who do, beyond the background checks already done. But her intent seems clear – to restrict the rights of citizens even further to have guns, when the opposite solution – more responsible citizens having guns, and an elimination of so-called "gun free zones" – would probably have prevented massacres.
It's curious that while the NRA sickens Mrs. Clinton, Planned Parenthood does not. When it comes to guns, some guns are used to commit murders. Many more are not used with harmful intent at all. Still more are used for vital self-defense. But when it comes to abortion, each life that is ended is an innocent one. There is no "good" use of abortion, except perhaps in those very rare instances where the mother's physical health is truly at risk or a baby is deemed to be severely deformed. But Mrs. Clinton has no problem with the killing fields of the abortion mills.
It is the NRA that troubles Mrs. Clinton, who never has to worry for her own security as any other citizen would because she has her own security contingent.
I think I know a way to cure Mrs. Clinton's illness, and it involves something rather special right between her eyes, deep in her brain.
I'm talking, of course, about gun education. I think liberals fear guns because they have no experience with them. I think a compulsory part of every high school senior's education should be a regime of learning to handle and shoot guns, with a special emphasis on gun safety. Students should also be taught how to defend themselves with guns, and taught about the many situations where guns have saved people's lives. I think if the broader population had practical experience handling firearms, some of those in liberal enclaves might be more open to the idea of having their own guns for self-defense, and concurrently less likely to support gun control legislation.
I'll bet Mrs. Clinton has never handled a gun, and like most liberals, she fears something she has never seen up close. If schools are desensitizing kids to homosexuality and transvestitism, why not guns, too?
