Why Hillary Likes The Good Wife
Hillary Clinton has revealed that the TV series The Good Wife is a favorite of hers. It is understandable that Mrs. Clinton can identify with the title character of that show. What makes the wife good is that she does not divorce her politician husband though he has sex with prostitutes and with a subordinate employee in his office, who later works for his wife. The politician is a Democrat, and one of the only speeches we hear from him is about “a woman's right to choose.”
The Good Wife stands by her man in part to protect his elective career, and indirectly, to protect her own career in the law. But in addition to clear comparisons to Hillary Clinton's own narrative, The Good Wife also presents the darling stereotypes and bigotries of the left-wing: anti-Jewish, anti-military, anti-Christian, and especially anti-traditional characters and themes. The Good Wife is pro-drug, pro-vulgarity, but more than anything, in episode after episode, the show presents the Magical Sodomite Archetype.
A pointedly Jewish character is presented as crude and loathsome, calling a waitress “a stupid bitch.” An enlisted man is called to give testimony in, of course, a case of a male officer raping a female subordinate, one of several evil-white-heterosexual-male plots lines. The soldier appears to be a moron, stammering his way through a single sentence. When he finally forces out a few words, he asks the panel if he is right, as if he is too stupid to understand what a hearing is. The Good Wife presents a drug king-pin most sympathetically as a good father, though he murdered his son's mother. The show gives no indication that the murder of the drug lord's wife was ever investigated and the murder creates no moral qualms in the Good Wife, who wraps her arms around the motherless lad as blues music signals sympathy for his father. This is a subtle left-wing theme, the OJ Simpson mythology that a black man can be a great dad even if he murders his child's mother.
The Good Wife's mother-in-law is a traditional woman who blames her daughter-in-law for not being more supportive of her husband. The older woman is presented as a narrow-minded, manipulative harridan. The Good Wife is troubled because her daughter is thumbing through a Bible, and of course, a “Families for Decency” group are presented as Neanderthal Christians.
But all stereotypes pale in comparison to the drumbeat of the homosexual initiative, especially the new cultural archetype of the Magical Sodomite. The Good Wife's brother is a “gay” man kicked out of his home for cheating on his boyfriend. He ends up on his sister's couch. Despite being a sorry excuse sleeping on his sister’s couch, he is the wise oracle of family life bestowing moral guidance on his confused sister. The “gay” agenda is advanced in episode after episode. There are long sex scenes between women, speeches about same-sex marriage. The bravest, most brilliant characters are homosexuals or homosexual activists.
As it is looking like Hillary's retirement from political life is looming, it's great that The Good Wife will provide her many hours of TV viewing enjoyment.
