Can the media prove that Obama is a Christian?
Something happened on Special Report with Brett Baier on Fox this past Friday evening that really opened my eyes as to how political correctness has infected even the conservative-leaning pundits that mostly inhabit Baier's show. They were discussing the non-comments that Trump made at a town hall meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire that morning. Here is the question from a person in the audience:
"We have a problem in this country. It's called Muslims," an unidentified man who spoke at a question-and-answer town hall event in Rochester, New Hampshire asked the mogul at a rally Thursday night. "You know our current president is one. You know he's not even an American."
The media, including Fox, went into meltdown mode. How could Trump not correct this man? Why did he not do what McCain did in the '08 campaign and tell a questioner that Obama is a good man and a Christian? Every day, the media, including Fox, demonstrate how perniciously they are infected with political correctness.
It is not Trump's job to correct the questioner's statement about Obama being a Muslim. Charles Krauthammer, Amy Walter, and Stephen Hayes, the three political commentators Friday evening, were all unanimous in criticizing Trump, saying his omission has the potential to hurt him as he goes forward in his campaign.
I am just amazed as to how even Fox News contributors continue to spout their inside-the-Beltway nonsense, reprimanding Trump for something he didn't do – namely, get with the politically correct program and defend Obama. When you have Fox contributors sounding like they're on CNN or NBC, the curtain has risen a little more, revealing the incestuousness and conformity of thought among the media elite.
