Obama pander update: Is 'Tejas' next on the pandering checklist?

A new poll shows that 71% of Americans are unhappy with the direction of the country.

President Obama's overall job approval is 44.7% at RCP but 39% on foreign policy.  Obamacare is at 40%, and the Iran nuclear deal is a very tough sell.

Our "let me pander to distract you from my lousy record" President Obama has done it again.

He is now changing the name of Mt. McKinley to Mt. Denali:

Ohio lawmakers reacted angrily Sunday to the White House's announcement that President Obama would formally rename Alaska's Mt. McKinley -- North America's highest peak -- "Denali" during his trip to The Last Frontier this week.

"Mount McKinley ... has held the name of our nation's 25th President for over 100 years," Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, said in a statement. " This landmark is a testament to his countless years of service to our country." Gibbs also described Obama's action as "constitutional overreach," saying that an act of Congress was required to rename the mountain, because a law formally naming it after Ohio's William McKinley was passed in 1917.

The Ohio delegation's disappointment at the decision cut across party lines. "This political stunt is insulting to all Ohioans, and I will be working with the House Committee on Natural Resources to determine what can be done to prevent this action," Gibbs said.

It's more than insulting and disrespectful to the memory of President McKinley.  President Obama is ignoring the role of Congress.  It was named by an act of Congress and signed into law by President Wilson in 1917.  Why didn't he go to Congress and ask for a name change?

Beyond that, it is President Obama at his pandering worst. He uses the presidential pen to pander to groups.  He does this because he can't get Congress to go along with him.

He couldn't even get 60 Democrat senators to pass immigration reform, gun control, climate change, or the DREAM Act!  So he writes an executive order legalizing people or issues or EPA rules without regard for Congress.

Is Texas next?  Will he soon rename Texas "Tejas"?  Why not?  Get ready for "Nuevo Mejico"!

He's gotta get a lot of disillusioned Hispanics interested in the Clinton or Biden campaign.  So it's time to pander!
