Trump, harshest on illegal aliens, leads with Hispanics in Nevada
I'm not the biggest Trump fan. In past columns I've questioned his past positions and his sincerity. But one place I will always defend him is his right to talk about the enormous problem we have with illegal aliens in this country. The common wisdom, foisted on us by the liberal media, is that talking about enforcing the law against illegal aliens is political suicide.
Well, as we can see from Donald Trump's rise, not only is that not true, but in Nevada, Trump is far and away the leader among Hispanics:
One America News Network, "OAN", a credible source for 24/7 national and international news, released today its most recent 2016 Republican and Democratic Presidential Polling Results for Nevada conducted by Gravis Marketing. The results show that GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a commanding lead of 27.7%, with recently announced Presidential Candidate Scott Walker in second with 15%.
With polled Hispanics, Presidential Candidate Trump received 31.4%, higher than his overall performance of 27.7%. The only other Presidential Candidate to receive double digit support by Hispanics is Scott Walker with 11.4%.
So Trump is actually doing better with Hispanics than he is doing with white voters! So much for the myth that Hispanic voters will punish a candidate who is tough on border security and the rule of law. The fact is that while some Hispanics certainly do favor amnesty, many of them are horrified by the wave after wave of lawlessness that has flooded especially our border states, and they want safety and security foremost.
The fact is that a Republican can win the election by running on a platform to support the rule of law and to enforce our borders, customs, and language. The biggest success of the liberal media is to convince us that it can't be done, so don't even try. What Donald Trump's success shows is that other candidates can touch this "third rail of border fence politics" without getting burned.
