Al Sharpton channels Pat Buchanan
Al Sharpton is pushing hard for the Obama Iran surrender deal, and, Sharpton being Sharpton, there is an ugly racist tinge to his comments. Daniel Chaitin reports in the Examiner:
The reverend argued there needs to be a "balance" in the debate on the landmark agreement, and that while groups like AIPAC are lobbying hard against the deal, Sharpton's coalition needs to step up and push in favor of it.
A "[d]isproportionate number of young people of color will be in harm's way if there is no peaceful settlement and war is declared," the NAN warned in a press release.
Get it? AIPAC is a predominantly Jewish organization. And he thinks a "[d]isproportionate number of young people of color” will be sacrificed thanks to their political donation money.
Or, as Pat Buchanan said in racial-mongering context:
…if it comes to war, it will not be the ‘civilized world’ humping up that bloody road to Baghdad; it will be American kids with names like McAllister, Murphy, Gonzales, and Leroy Brown.
Strange bedfellows, but then again, anti-Semitism does unite disparate groups.
