Majority of Democrats favor allowing illegal immigrants to vote

Farewell, sweet America. The concept of citizenship is dead among a majority of Democrats.  Ramsussen reports the results of a phone survey that spells doom:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that one-out-of-three Likely U.S. Voters (35%) now believes that illegal immigrants should be allowed to vote if they can prove they live in this country and pay taxes. Sixty percent (60%) disagree, while five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Fifty-three percent (53%) of Democrats think tax-paying illegal immigrants should have the right to vote. Twenty-one percent (21%) of Republicans and 30% of voters not affiliated with either major political party agree.

So, once the pendulum swings and Democrats gain control of Congress and the White House, we can expect Democrats to solidify their permanent control of government by legalizing what is already becoming a de facto reality: allowing people who manage to cross our borders without bothering to observe our laws or commit to the obligations of citizenship the right to determine our political future. Since the requirements of law mean nothing to these people, why not vote twice?

The panoply of taxpayer-funded benefits available to people who manage to sneak across our border provide a far better standard of living than is available to most people in Mexico and Central America regardless of how hard they work. That is why, according to Ann Coulter’s new book, Adios America, a quarter of Mexico’s population has moved to this country. Granting the right to vote themselves more access to money earned by others will only strengthen the intensity of that migration.
