CNN reporter blames vets for riots
CNN host Brooke Baldwin made a shocking, off the wall statement when interviewing Rep. Elijah Cummings during the Baltimore riots.
Baldwin thought that part of the problem was too many military veterans in the Baltimore police department who were "ready to do battle."
While conducting an interview with Democratic Maryland Representative Elijiah Cummings, CNN host Brooke Baldwin questioned whether the violence in Baltimore had something to do with the amount of military veterans in the police department.
“Another thing that has to be done here, is we’ve really got to look at our police department,” Cummings began.
“But in what sense?” Baldwin asked. “We talk about training, we talk about having officers — I was talking to the city councilman here last week. He said, ‘Brooke, these people have to live in the communities… or there’s a lack of emotional investment.’”
“And a lot of these young people — I’ve been talking about this so much. A lot of young people — and I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”
Liberals never get tired of advancing the "crazy vet" stereotype. It's their way of criticizing veterans, the military, and America while appearing to care about their mental health. It's been going on since the end of the Vietnam War and is now apparently being applied to vets who are policemen with itchy trigger fingers.
Anything I've ever read about military veterans on America's police forces has been positive. They are disciplined, courageous, and devoted to protecting and serving the people. What more could you possibly want in a policeman?
Apparently, they aren't touchy feely enough for people like Baldwin. All I know is, if the crap hits the fan as it did in Baltimore, I'd much rather have ex-servicemen out on the streets facing down the thugs than a Dr. Phil clone.
