Obamacare for pets
Yesterday, March 23, was National Puppy Day. Choosing his priorities carefully, Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) noted this important occasion by tweeting his solution for a problem most people didn't know existed. However, with government help, this will soon be a major, expensive new problem.
It's #NationalPuppyDay & @SenMikeLee @SenBlumenthal & I are working on PetMeds legislation to make it easier on paychecks if pets get sick.

Chew on this: buying meds from the vet costs owners a ~248% mark up. For #NationalPuppyDay we need a better option. pic.twitter.com/Fphgd4ZS4W

But never fear: I promise you, in the name of Senator Schumer, if you like your veterinarian, you can keep your veterinarian. And that's a Democratic promise.
