Dem Drums Beating Louder for Warren
Reported the Washington Times:
More than two dozen Democratic power brokers in a key early primary state are pleading with Sen. Elizabeth Warren to run for the Democratic presidential nomination against scandal-scarred Hillary Clinton.
Dear Conventional Wisdom, it seems that Hillary’s inevitable coronation as the Democrats’ standard-bearer in 2016 isn’t so inevitable after all.
Not only is the activist left against Hillary, party politicos are beginning to oppose her. Politicos tend join in “kills” only when blood can be smelled heavily downwind. And make no mistake, Hillary is hemorrhaging politically.
The left has been working to undermine Hillary for months. Leftists want Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts senator whose devotion to socialism isn’t much different than that of the irascible Bernie Sanders (D-VT), but who’s a softer sell and a woman, to boot.
And it doesn’t hurt that Obama and his crew are helping to whack Hillary. As James Lewis reported on these pages:
Obama and the Clintons have a hate-hate relationship – which is why Hillary’s e-mail scandal has hit the headlines at this time. The media are still Obama’s obedient servants. They must have known about Hillary’s personal e-mail server, since thousands of people in D.C. have been getting those emails, complete with her private “sent-from” address on top.
One more take from the Times’ article
Ms. Warren has repeatedly refused such entreaties from liberal groups pleading for her to enter the race as an alternative to Mrs. Clinton and has said she is not running.
Of course, that’s malarkey. Warren wants to be president more than she wants to be an Indian princess. For the serious-minded, a presidential run is always about resources (financial and human) and timing. If Hillary continues to sink, Warren and her inner circle will find the timing for a run quite good and the resources, ample. The Democratic Party has been pulled so far left over the years that a Warren nomination makes sense.
Mark this: the left and the Obama confederacy will continue to do their parts to drag down Hillary. The Clintons and their minions are a stubborn group with a lot riding on a Hillary coronation, so she won’t go easy. But the betting here is that Hillary goes. Hillary going doesn’t mean the Clintons go, though. It means guerilla war against Obama, Warren, and others who laid-low the Clinton restoration. That’s good for Republicans – or it should be.
