Stunning: Bob Woodward alleges Susan Rice micromanaging the generals

Bob Woodward is one of the most credible and well-connected reporters in Washington, DC. So his conversation yesterday with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday ought to be making waves. It appears that the White House National Security officials are micromanaging the generals.

BOB WOODWARD: If you talk to people in the White House and the military, I think there is agreement that John McCain is right and Gen. Flynn is right: there is no strategy. They have not sat down and said 'this is where we want to go and this is how we want to do it.' And the measure of that, as we get in the weeds here...

People in the White House are micromanaging the tactical situation on a daily and weekly basis. That is not their job. They have to do strategic planning, and say what do we want to accomplish in the next year.

CHRIS WALLACE: Are you saying that [National Security Adviser] Susan Rice is telling the generals what to do?

BOB WOODWARD: “And they have got all these people in the White House. You talk to people in the military who are there and they say ‘we are being micromanaged and we’re not given a real plan to say what are we going to do here.’ And it’s not the way to run a war or try to win a war.”

Susan Rice, it must be specified, is a known fabulist. She spun the tale that the Mohammed video was responsible for the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic facility, contrary to facts that were known at the time. And she maintained that Bowe Bergdahl “served with distinction.”

This is a scandal, and the nation is in peril. So far, nary a ripple in the mainstream media.
