US Senate declares that the climate does change

The US Senate has voted almost unanimously (98-1) that climate change is real. What a relief! I thought the ice age might have been an internet hoax. The climate actually changes!  Who knew? The Senate should stop passing laws, and become an oracle and answer the most inscrutable questions like these!

Of course, the Senate wasn't merely stating that the climate changes; what they were really saying was that people have an effect on the changing climate. Forget about the fact that according to satellite data for 16 out of the last 17 years it has gotten cooler; and for the 17th year, it either got 1/100th of a degree warmer than 2005, or because of the margin of error, it didn't. Forget about the fact that industry produces less than 3% of carbon dioxide emissions, and the rest are produced naturally. Forget about the fact that much greater warming and cooler trends have occurred even before industrialization (remember the Ice Age, and the warming after that? That was a bit more than 1/100th of a degree!) These are just some of the facts you need to forget in order to believe that man has any effect on the weather (or women--mustn't forget the women!)

The GOP “yes” votes also included three of the GOP’s leading contenders for the White House: Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Rand Paul (Ky.) and Marco Rubio (Fla.).

They should know better. Shame on them. They should have voted no and lectured the Senate on all those inconvenient facts.  But if you can't smoke it or release it from prison, then it's not on Rand's agenda; I haven't heard Marco Rubio speak out about anything other than the burning need for  amnesty; and Ted Cruz should simply know better.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called the climate change votes “a step forward” for Republicans.

“I think what is exciting is that today we saw for the first time — a number, a minority — but some Republicans going onboard and saying that climate change is real and it’s caused by human activity,” Sanders said.

If the socialists are excited, you know mankind has just taken five steps backwards.

High-ranking Republicans have in recent months taken to deflecting questions about climate change in interviews, repeatedly stating, “I am not a scientist.”

That may be true, but do they have a brain? If they have a brain, they should know it is a sham; and if they have a backbone, they should be able to speak out about it.

So like on so many subjects, Republicans have now been cowed into silence on the subject of imaginary man made global warming. Republicans are also afraid to talk about abortion, cutting the budget, cutting taxes, deporting illegal aliens, gay marriage, the dangers of radical islam, and most other subjects.

Let me know in the comments section if you can think of anything that Republicans will still talk about, other than generalities such as "strong leadership and limited government".
