Idiotic leftist responses to Charlie Hebdo #1
For complicated and fundamentally irrational reasons, the American left is determined to deny the obvious and pretend that Islam is a “religion of peace,” and if religion has anything to do with violence, why, all religions are equally bad.
Case in point: Sally Kohn, the former Fox News contributor now seen on CNN by a tiny fraction of the audience that once was treated to her defenses of the left.
On Twitter, she erected this straw man:
Christians or Jews killing in name of religion = Extremists
But Muslims killing in name of religion = All Muslims??!
Come on...

Twitchy collected some of the responses, pointing out that nobody is claiming that all Muslims are responsible. The problem is that a nontrivial minority of Muslims do approve and even celebrate such actions. But Sally wasn’t done. She made this absurd claim:
Since 9/11, right-wing extremists (incl anti-abortion, anti-gov) have killed more Americans than Islamic extremists — http://t.co/1IiyXdi2cj

For her source, she cited an article CNN published that conveniently ignored 9/11’s 3,000+ deaths, Fort Hood (“workplace violence,” dontcha know) and many other Islamic terror actions.
Is anyone persuaded? Does CNN want to drive away viewers? If so, it is succeeding.
