David Cameron does it better
Cameron had no reticence depicting Islamic-related terrorism as “the perversion of one of the world’s major religions,” describing those who attack in the name of Allah as a “death cult.” Obama’s response to the Paris attack was to exploit the tragedy by alerting the media to stand by for a presidential address. At the appointed hour, he was found delivering a fundraising speech in Knoxville, TN. He joked with the audience for several minutes before mentioning his condolences for the dead in Paris – almost as an aside. Obama did not show up in Paris for a solidarity march against terrorism, attended by major world leaders. But he did send over Attorney General Eric Holder, who did not appear at the march. A week later, John Kerry introduced singer James Taylor to a French audience to play his guitar and sing “You’ve Got A Friend” as Kerry looked on with a vacant glaze.
What must the world think? Cameron’s strong and articulate words to America’s fumbling lack of decorum and cluelessness is a microcosm of the Obama presidency. There is not a true statesman in the whole gang of radical reformers he has picked to star in his administration. Instead, we have females like black activist Susan Rice calling the national security shots, environmental activist Sally Jewell running Interior (who recently called for designating most of energy-rich Alaska as a “wilderness area” to prevent oil and gas exploration), and Gina McCarthy at EPA, who is firing off Obama executive orders like Trident missiles programmed to destroy industry to prevent “climate change.”
In his zeal to ape European left-of-center governments, Obama has instead set a new standard for wishy-washy, feel-good semi-socialist dross. The Europeans have finally seen the light of reality when it comes to Islamic jihadists. But not Obama, whose insistence on refusing to label terrorist attacks by Muslim fanatics as linked to Islam does make one wonder if his true allegiances are emanating from a personal belief in the teachings of Mohammed. Is the emperor wearing a thobe and a skullcap in the private quarters of the White House? Is he stashing a prayer rug in the Oval Office?
