National Urban League president can't deal with evidence on Garner case

As with Eleanor Holmes Norton, Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League and former Mayor of New Orleans, found himself unable to deal with facts when discussing a grand jury No True Bill, this time in the Eric Garner death. Megyn Kelly of Fix News attempted multiple times to ascertain on what evidence Morial claimed that race was a factor in Garner’s death. He was unable to supply any. But that did not prevent him from knowing that it was so. Watch the video here.

We have a problem here. Neither Norton not Morial is stupid. They are prominent and important leaders.  But they are pursuing a higher truth (in their minds) that is not bound to facts. Is the correct term for this condition “obsession”?
