How about the gall of the recipient of the Lie of the Year thinking people are even more stupid than Gruber thinks they are?

Barack Obama can run but he cannot entirely escape.

While in Asia - conveniently times to happen after midterm elections that shellacked the Democratic Party (defeats that did reflect on him and his policies since they were on the ballot, after all”) - Barack Obama was asked by the media about Jonathan Gruber’s admissions that Americans were lied to about ObamaCare because they were considered too stupid or economically illiterate to catch the cons

President Barack Obama denied Sunday that his signature health care reform law was deceptively marketed, rejecting statements by a consultant on the plan who said aspects of Obamacare were designed to take advantage of the “stupidity” of voters.

“The fact that an adviser who was never on our staff expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters is not a reflection on the actual process that was run,” Obama declared at a press conference here, speaking for the first time about the comments by MIT economist Jonathan Gruber.

When the president was asked whether he had intentionally misled the public in order to get the law passed, he replied: “No. I did not.”

Even the Obama-friendly Tampa Bay Times found that Obama’s repeated promise “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” was the lie of the year

We now know that Barack Obama and his advisers knew all along that millions would lose their plans and doctors

But why stop with one whopper? Premiums soared and are soaring - instead of declining the average of $2500 that Obama promised . The deficit will leap in future years because of Obamacare . Abortion will be covered  despite promises to the contrary.

In the words of Mark Steyn, Obamacare was passed by a phalanx of lies  (and bribes, for that matter, the Louisiana Purchase  , among them).  Recently, even liberal journalist Ron Fournier scathingly criticized “Obamacare’s Foundation of Lies”

Barack Obama was always was and always will be a con-man who believes being a good storyteller was key to his “success” (see Obama The Storyteller) - as do all people who try to bamboozle Americans. Don’t look behind you, Mr. Obama, your lies are catching up to you-six years and a trillion dollars in debt too late.

But this is what he knows how to do - lie - so he will keep doing it, if no longer quite as well. There was never anything more than lies and a gullible public. His election and reelection depended  on them, as well as  a supine and biased media.
