Hoax is 'farsa' in Spanish

Let's leave the constitutional issues to people a lot smarter than me.  My guess is that President Obama's action is lawless, but I am not a constitutional lawyer.

President Obama's speech is a cruel hoax, and that really makes me mad.

First, President Obama is trying to pick a fight with the GOP.  He wants an issue to rally the base.  He is hoping that the GOP will overreact and unleash a bunch of stupid statements against immigrants.

Second, President Obama's speech was cynical and not motivated by any concern for what he called "undocumented immigrants."  Why didn't he do something about this problem back in 2009-10, when he enjoyed huge majorities?  He avoided the issue before, especially during the most recent campaign.

Third, President Obama cited former presidents but forgot to say that no one ever stopped deportations for 5 million people.

Fourth, President Obama's actions will likely be deleted by the next president or a court.

Fifth, it will create chaos in law enforcement, as Pat Buchanan wrote:

The political, psychological and moral effects of Obama’s action will be dramatic.

Sheriffs, border patrol and immigration authorities, who have put their lives on the line to secure our broken borders, have been made to look like fools. Resentment and cynicism over Obama’s action will be deeply corrosive to all law enforcement.

Businessmen who obeyed the law and refused to hire illegals, hiring Americans and legal immigrants instead, and following U.S. and state law on taxes, wages and withholding, also look like fools today.

Last but not least, what about the people who are waiting in line to come to the U.S.?  They would have been better flying to the U.S. and overstaying their visas or cross the border.

A bad night for "the rule of law," and a good night for cynicism.
