Terrorism or Workplace Violence?
Cleveland D.A. Greg Mashburn says that Oklahoma beheading suspect Alton Nolen is not a terrorist, but an angry man who committed first-degree murder.
Collen Hufford was decapitated on the spot, and the D.A. is threatening Nolen with a relatively painless lethal injection. Justice, where is thy sting? The scales are weighted on the side of the perpetrator. And he will have years in jail luxuriating, waiting for his punishment.
The real case is not if Nolen is a terrorist or a murderer. He is both. The horror is not semantic. The definition is both. We don’t have to choose. Let’s stop the arguing.
Of course Nolen has a criminal record. Of course the justice system let him out too early. He did a measly two years on a six-year sentence. Shouldn’t the Department of Corrections bear some responsibility in the decapitation? Is Teflon Obama sitting on that parole board?
Nolen is a Muslim convert. He tried to convert some employees at his plant to the Muslim religion. He had religious tattoos, some of them in Arabic. He had a photo of Osama bin Laden on his Facebook page. Also, he had some photos of decapitations.
This may have been violence at the workplace, but it was not workplace violence. Governor Rick Perry has said that “[a]ny rational-thinking American is going to look at this and go, This is more than just normal workplace violence.”
The FBI defines a terrorist act where an instance of violence must “appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping.”
The beheading certainly intimidated the workers at the plant and those who read about it; Nolan certainly wanted to influence the policy of the government to move toward sharia law, and he did want to affect America by assassination.
This is so clearly terrorism that only government officials afraid of panicking the country would term it workplace violence. Obama, who announced that he degraded al-Qaeda and viewed ISIS as junior varsity, certainly doesn’t want to frighten the public with the truth about the terrorism that is taking place.
The D.A., Mashburn, announced that the attack was about revenge, not religion. Is he blind? Doesn’t he see all the tattoos, the Facebook references, the conversion?
Mashburn went on to say that the attack had more to do with race than conversion. Then why were all the references to religion, not race? Beheading is indigenous to the Muslim religion. Even Mohammed practiced it.
The French Revolution is long over. Jihad is an ideology and a government. It is the destruction of the rest of the world.
The sooner our government recognizes terrorism, the sooner we will be able to deal with it. Obama is sacrificing his own people in order to make it look as though he has conquered terrorism. He is the reason why the terrorists feel free to cut off our heads.
Inadvertent or intentional, our president is betraying us. It’s not so much that I am completely blaming him. But what he has done is shaming him.
