Stop West African Flights!
Our president does not like panic. The only time he panics is when he can’t make it to a fundraiser or a golf course.
So he has one of his flunkies, Thomas Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control, tell us that panicking and stopping all flights from West Africa to the United States will be useless, because “we recognize until we can stop the outbreak at its source, we can’t get the risk in this country to zero.”
Does he imply that letting passengers from Ebola areas into the country will get the risk to zero? Won’t that just exacerbate the risk? And how are we supposed to stop the outbreak at its source when sending thousands of our men over to West Africa will just increase the chances of the disease sneaking back into our country?
In the Middle Ages, would Obama and Frieden have recommended allowing people with bubonic plague into our towns? Would that have cut off the plague at the source?
I could see sending some health workers to West Africa. Maybe? But the main cure is to quarantine Ebola where it resides by being vigilant with border control and letting no flights in.
Oh, that’s right: our president isn’t too good with border control. He thinks that it is prejudiced to protect ourselves. Look at the millions of illegal immigrants who have sneaked into the country already.
A mere 150 people a day arrive in America from West Africa. Obama would rather not inconvenience them and thus risk the lives of over three hundred million Americans by letting them in.
He has finally come up with some enhanced screenings at the airports. Wow, like taking travelers temperatures is a foolproof way to treat Ebola.
Frieden says that “[w]hatever we do, we can’t get the risk to zero.” But why increase the risk by letting travelers in from West Africa? He and Obama are so afraid of bias that they would rather let potential Ebola victims arrive.
Obama reassures us that “the chance of a domestic Ebola outbreak ‘remains extremely low.’” Isn’t he the same man who told us that ISIS is junior varsity and that with his new Affordable Care Act we can keep our health plans and that they will be cheaper?
Six years I have suffered through Obama’s cheesy, distorted rhetoric. He looks like a used car salesman. He has sold us his old socialistic ideas. His engine is defunct.
I never really believed in impeachment. I do now.
