Obama's Parthian Tactics
Obama is now riding backward on his horse and firing arrows at his opposition. His poll numbers plummet, and the word “impeachment” can be heard. He likely will stay mounted in this fashion for the next two years.
The Parthians were made famous for this tactic. When fleeing a battle that they had lost, the riders were taught to ride backward and fire arrows as best they could at the pursuing enemy. Thus, the term “Parthian shot” was created, used primarily as a reference to a derogatory or insulting gesture issued by a person upon departure.
It seems that this is what we are getting from our unengaged president. Arrows from his agenda quiver are strung and flung from the backward-mounted rider as time runs out on his final term.
Blame Game
On and on, to the same dropped-jawed crowd piled behind his dais, Obama explains how the GOP has stopped “him” from helping “them.” Just as Peyton Manning used the term “Omaha” in the NFL, Obama must get paid for using the term “middle class.” He is doing all he can, not going to rest one second, until he can help the middle class. But the Republicans won’t allow it. The false justification is implied. If they won’t let it happen, I will go around Congress, he says. Applause. Lost on the audience is the inconvenient fact that what he proposes is outside the scope of the Constitution (which Obama swore to uphold) and the fact that his own Harry Reid has halted nearly 300 House-passed bills from reaching consideration in the Senate.
Creating Another Crisis
In a “Cloward and Piven” fashion, if you can’t collapse the entire system, pick and choose the parts you do want to change and collapse them, one at a time. Health care for starters, and immigration for a follow up. Rebuild them; use the crisis to implement the agenda.
Frustrated once again with the Republicans, this time on immigration, he creates, or allows to deteriorate, the border crisis and the “refugee” children from countries not contiguous to the United State. The surge was anticipated back in January.
ICE posted its RFI for “escort services” on Jan. 29…. The private escorts would transfer “approximately 65,000″ unaccompanied foreign children from Border Patrol facilities to Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement shelters.
This surge has had the desired effect, to a point. It has put immigration reform on the front burner, and has put all the “phony scandals” out of the news. Additionally, the created or allowed crisis paints the GOP as anti-Hispanic rather than pro-border and law.
But per the modus operandi, the temporary crisis will lead to an implementation of a Progressive agenda modeled change.
Once Again, the United States Is to Blame
It’s our fault again. The demand for drugs has led to the empowerment of violent drug cartels in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Following that train of thought, the drug cartels have made these children refugees, thus the United States has made them refugees. Those pictures of Barack “lighting up” come to mind.
Asking Countries to Do Better
President Obama asked Iraq to “do better” with their battle against ISIS. Why shouldn’t the president ask the leaders of Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador to “do better” as well? These countries all receive foreign aid from the U.S. in one form or another, can it not be applied to fighting drug cartels and keeping their children safe within their own borders? And what of the presidents of these countries that see the outflow of their progeny? Why are they complacent and complicit?
Where Are the “Good” Democrats?
Like Diogenes holding a lantern and searching for the honest man, we search for patriotic Democrats. Cannot patriotic Democrats come out from the darkness to castigate these games from the Obama administration? It just does not suffice to merely choose not to be seen with the president.
Also, it is tiring and disquieting to witness the likes of Luis Gutierrez and other Hispanic congressmen, who place their allegiance to their ethnicity over their allegiance to borders and country. Those who place party over country should be sorted out for display, and reminded of their oath of office.
A Hand Full of Spaghetti-Os
Like a child in a high chair that wants attention and throws his dinner against the wall, the President creates these “crises” moments and gets the attention, and the focus of the media, precisely where desired. He didn’t create the situation, we are told, he wants to repair the situation he says and will do all that he can to do so, even if it means circumventing the constitutional process. He thus becomes the hero and the remedy to assuage that of his own doing.
Perhaps the image should be of the president riding backward on a horse – not shooting arrows, but throwing his dinner and blaming others. Most assuredly, he will be backward on his mount for the next two years.
