I have noticed that pretty much every day now, there is a New York Times story or op ed that describes someone who saves the planet through environmental action. I decided to Google “save the planet, new york times,” and got 38,000 links, including yesterday's on how the Port Authority is Saving the Planet.

It could be argued that Chris Christie's aides’ lane closures were designed to encourage more ride sharing and use of public transportation, so he too was saving the planet. Somehow I don’t see the Times editors pursuing this reasoning, at least not for a Republican.
