JeffreyGoldberg should show 'Jewish humility' - Al Jazeera writer
Most Muslim countries demand, and practice, multiple forms of apartheid one of which is considering all non Muslims-- probably you dear reader and most definitely me--as dhimmis, inferior and lesser species who must be treated as such as in this instance.
According to classic Islamic law, Christians and Jews living under Muslim sovereignty must pay a tax known as jizya in return for the Muslim ruler’s protection, known as dhimma.
(snip)
In return, the Christians agreed to a list of conditions: to abstain from renovating churches or monasteries in Raqqa; not to display crosses or religious symbols in public or use loudspeakers in prayer; not to read scripture indoors loud enough for Muslims standing outside to hear; not to undertake subversive actions against Muslims; not to carry out any religious ceremonies outside the church; not to prevent any Christian wishing to convert to Islam from doing so; to respect Islam and Muslims and say nothing offensive about them; to pay the jizya tax worth four golden dinars for the rich, two for the average, and one for the poor, twice annually, for each adult Christian; to refrain from drinking alcohol in public; and to dress modestly.
“If they adhere to these conditions, they will be close to God and receive the protection of Mohammed his prophet …
But what about all those non Muslims living freely, proudly and independently in the rest of the world, say in the United States, Canada or Israel, who are not subject to these demeaning conditions? Well, they should still know their diminished place in the world according to Muslim political analyst Marwan Bashra of Muslim media's al-Jazeera English, especially Jews.
Jewish journalist Jeffrey Goldberg came under social media siege on Monday from Al Jazeera analyst Marwan Bishara, who demanded the veteran Atlantic writer and author show some “Jewish humility,” after telling him that he “gives Jews a bad name.”(snip)
Bishara tweeted to Goldberg: “take it from someone more educated & better informed about the issues you write about; Some Jewish humility is good for you.”
He tweeted “being a prison guard of the Israeli occupation gives you no right to police Israeli and Arab media. Apologize first.”
The definitely non dhimmi and definitely unhumble Jewish Jeffrey Goldberg happily answered the tweet.
Goldberg replied: “Yes, apparently Jews are supposed to be more humble than others. Or something. Who knows with this guy?”
The Jewish author then asked Bishara: “Is it @AJEnglish’s position that Jews need to show humility, or just yours?”
Goldberg concluded: “Message to me from Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, Marwan Bishara: ‘you give jews a bad name.’ So my day has been made.” (snip)
Goldberg ended with a message to Bishara: “You continue to sound like a not-very-bright person. Good luck on your journey.”
As Mia Farrow tweeted about this, "Whoa. Unbelievable." Well, for the former yes, "whoa;," for the latter, no, quite believable.
