Hillbama?
The simultaneous implosions of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, as the Middle East threatens to degenerate into a brutal conflagration between Shiites and Sunnis, raises an interesting question. Is the Democrat brand being sullied? Are Hillary and Obama, jointly responsible for foreign policy from 2009-2013, merging into a single image of incompetence?
Michael Nadler writes:
“I find myself having to think twice about which of the two was being referred to in accounts of the disastrous past week. So if I'm any indication, I think the various scandals, domestic and foreign policy screw ups and verbal gaffes made by each of them, even those having nothing to do with the other, are starting to become interwoven into one big blur of Hillbama symbolizing a combination of incompetence and privilege and being out-of-touch and just plain bad news for America.
It's kind of like the old political ads using images of the morphing between a candidate and a hated politician, but it's happening spontaneously and so becoming the perfect storm against Democrats and ideal situation for those Republicans who write negative ads and are running against them.
