While Obama and Clinton allies in the Democratic Party and media (but I repeat myself) dismiss Benghazi scrutiny as a partisan witch-hunt, the cover-up has tied the hands of the Pentagon in its hunt for the murderers.

As I wrote earlier this year (in “To protect his image, Obama has tied Pentagon's hands in hunting for Benghazi attackers”), Obama’s refusal to designate the Benghazi attack as having been planned and perpetrated by Al Qaeda has prevented the Pentagon from hunting down the murderers -- all to protect his image.

Kristina Wong of The Hill reported:

The U.S. military cannot hunt down and kill people responsible for the deadly 2012 attack on an American compound in Benghazi, Libya, as long as the terrorists are not officially deemed members or affiliates of al Qaeda, newly declassified transcripts from congressional hearings show.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Martin Dempsey in testimony on Oct. 10 said the Pentagon's hands are tied because the groups involved are not covered by the Authorization for Use of Military Force. The AUMF law allows U.S. attacks anywhere in the world only on al Qaeda and "associated forces."

"The individuals related in the Benghazi attack, those that we believe were either participants or leadership of it, are not 'authorized use of military force,' " Gen. Dempsey told the House Armed Services Committee in his classified testimony during a closed hearing.

The transcript was released on Monday.

"In other words, they don't fall under the AUMF authorized by the Congress of the United States. So we would not have the capacity to simply find them and kill them either with a remotely-piloted aircraft or with an assault on the ground," Dempsey said.

Republicans would be wise to point this out every single time Democrats try to obstruct this investigation (as has been done in the last couple of days and will be done for weeks and months ahead). The administration’s effort to hide the truth from Americans and, especially from grieving family and friends, is all the more despicable because it is being done for partisan reasons by the Democrats. That accusation should be thrown back at Democrats every time they try that partisan ploy-the chaff they throw out to distract Americans from the many mistakes made by this administration, mistakes that in this case led to the deaths of Americans serving their nation.

The victims are not being served and the terrorists are getting away with murder to protect Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Isn’t this supposed to be the most transparent administration in history? It is increasingly clear this has been the most transparent administration in history-just not the way they intended it to be.
