The Left's War against Everyone
In their continuing struggle to maintain a permanent victim class in America, the left has now latched onto an innocuous tweet from the Republican National Committee. In what was clearly meant to be a respectful acknowledgement of the contributions of Rosa Parks on the 58th anniversary of her arrest for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man Alabama, the RNC apparently committed the appalling atrocity of saying Ms. Parks should be recognized for her "bold stand and her role in ending racism." Liberal blogs, news media, and the wretched MSNBC immediately pounced upon this comment as proof that conservatives in general and Republicans in particular wanted to spread a lie that there was no more racism in America. On many media outlets, this was actually promoted as "news."
What was so outrageous and controversial about the statement? Did those trying to whip up a frenzy over the tweet actually believe that Republicans believe or were even implying that racism no longer exists. Why could they not see it for what it was implying: that racist policies that prevented African Americans from living in this country with equal rights, free of obstruction in the political, educational, and public forum, truly has been ended? Of course, there is still racism, but it has lost its oppressive power except for those who still cling to it in their minds.
For the Left , however, the notion that racism is still a physical, living, and breathing obstacle that prevents blacks from advancing can never be denied because the Left's entire playbook consists of providing protection from this invisible monster in return for political power. Setting factions against one another -- white against black, male against female, gay against straight and "rich" versus "poor" -- is the very essence of Progressive strategy. It has resulted in a lot of social damage which is probably reflected in a recent Associated Press poll that revealed the vast majority of Americans do not trust one another.
This pathology has the Left often feeding on one another. Liberal cartoonist Ted Rall was recently banned from the Progressive website Daily Kos for daring to publish a cartoon that was critical of President Obama. Rall has warned that if Hillary Clinton becomes the nominee of the Democratic Party for president in 2016, expect sexism to become the new racism.
It is a lot easier to tear something apart than put it back together. Unfortunately, the Left has absolutely no incentive to put back together what they have worked so hard to render to shreds.
