Obama admits to profiling!
President Obama publicly claimed he could tell where immigrants are not from America by looking at their faces, and the media mostly ignored this startling confession of profiling. But not Andrew Malcolm of Investor's Business Daily:
"As I was getting a tour of DreamWorks, I didn't ask, but just looking at faces, I could tell there were some folks who are here not because they were born here, but because they want to be here."
Malcolm asks the important questions:
How would Obama react if someone determined his birthplace by looking at that face of his? And what evil or good dreams lurk within that obviously wily Chicagoan's mind. (snip)
The president did not elaborate on how he could tell in California's disparate ethnic makeup which workers' skin color, facial features, hairstyles or perhaps annoying accents gave them away as non-native-born. Or how their geographic origin would matter to the president of the United States, who's not enforcing immigration laws anyway.
It's the kind of loose-lipped ethnic or racial stereotype which if uttered by, say, a New Jersey state trooper would get him and the case thrown out of any court: "I could tell by the driver's skin color that he was not born in this community." Or the suspect's suspiciously loud music, drooping pants and perceived shifty eyes during the traffic stop. (snip)
...an African American president has not been known to admit participating in the kinds of racial profiling that his own Justice Department is prosecuting.
Indeed.
