Chris Matthews gets all biblical in praising Obama

I could only stand watching a couple of minutes of the Chris Matthews interview of the president before flipping back to the dog channel. Biased TV is boring TV and Matthews didn't disappoint.

"He came to us. He came amongst us." said Mr. Tingles.

Mary Katherine Ham:

And, lo, the president came upon them, and the glory of the president shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

As for the interview itself, it was "extraordinary," according to other MSNBC contributors.

It includes such insights as Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the greatest veeps of all time. And, the real problem with the media is that it puts far too little faith and focus on government's awesome successes.

And, because it's hard to keep up with all of Matthews' inane utterances, we missed this stunner from "Morning Joe" today:

Matthews was on "Morning Joe" this morning to promote his interview with President Obama when he launched into a rant.

Obama "has had a very difficult opposition out there ... who from the very beginning wanted to destroy this presidency," he said. "And some of it is ethnic, and some is good old ideology. But they way they treated this guy is unusual in our history."

"Al Gore accepted the fact, even though he won by 600,000 votes, that W. was president. And the Democrats accepted the legitimacy of George W. Bush 100 percent," he added, when host Joe Scarborough tried to push back a bit.

"There is an asymmetry here between the hard right and the Democratic center, there is a real asymmetry, Joe," he continued. "There really is. And to say that they are both the same is not true."

Many Democrats didn't even accept Bush's 2004 victory, despite the incumbent winning by 3 million votes. Even today, many Democrats constantly refer to the 2000 election being "stolen." Either Matthews is clueless (his next statement about the "Democratic center" would seem to indicate he is) or he recently had a lobotomy.

Here's a clip of MSNBC contributors talking about the interview.
