McAuliffe appoints scandal-tainted cabinet member

The signs are that corruption will be the byword of the administration of incoming Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. Right Wisconsin reports:

The name Levar Stoney may not ring a bell to many in Wisconsin, but the new Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia and former Deputy Campaign Manager for Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe has some scandalous history in Wisconsin.

In 2004, Levar Stoney was involved in covering up and lying for five Democratic campaign operatives who slashed the tires of 25 vans rented by the Republican Party for get out the vote efforts.

According to a Court TV article from 2004, Levar Stoney initially lied and then came clean to authorities about the tire slashing.

Such thug tactics apparently endeared Stoney to McASuliffe, because he became involved in another scandal-tainted McAuliffe venture:

After his work in Wisconsin, Stoney went on to work for McAuliffe's troubled electric car company GreenTech, which recently fell under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission. He then served as Deputy Campaign Manager for McAuliffe during the 2013 campaign before his appointment to Secretary of the Commonwealth.

Virginia voters have made their bed. Now they will have to sleep in it.
