De Blasio Is Looking the Other Way on Crime
Bill de Blasio is running for mayor of New York City. He wants to improve kindergarten. Wow. That's quite the ambition.
Joe Lhota, his opponent, wants to keep our streets safe. He is the opposite of Mayor Dinkins, de Blasio's former boss. Dinkins and de Blasio don't understand the criminology precept that broken windows lead to larger crimes.
The car window washers of Dinkins's days were stopped by Giuliani (Lhota's mentor). De Blasio says that Giuliani was divisive. But I say that Dinkins was destructive. And de Blasio's ideology will endanger all New Yorkers.
Is throwing money at kindergarten a priority, or is controlling murder? When you're mugged in the street, do you care if your assailant has a good kindergarten education and if he is carrying a copy of Dr. Seuss?
If your wife is raped or your child is attacked by a pedophile, are you going to say that it wasn't your fault even though you were against stop-and-frisk and a general toughening of the laws? Are you going to admit to your complicity in the crime by accepting your failure to vote against de Blasio? Will you accept your guilt or blame it on the rain...or George Bush?
You are responsible for what you ignore. De Blasio is looking the other way when it comes to crime. You are looking for help from outer space if you vote for de Blasio.
