Real heroes salute anywhere
While the President Barack Obama (D) administration advised non furloughed National Park Service employees to spitefully Barrycade war memorials on the nation's National Mall in Washington, inconveniencing and insulting veterans and others, a gravely wounded soldier who lost both legs in Afghanistan carried on, saluting from his bed while receiving a Purple Heart.
His wife, Taylor Hargis, posted to Facebook that her husband's gesture was "the most beautiful salute any person in that room had ever seen." "I cannot impart on you the level of emotion that poured through the intensive care unit that day. Grown men began to weep and we were speechless at a gesture that speak (sic) volumes about Josh's courage and character," she wrote.
And yes, he will probably salute his Commander in Chief if they ever meet. But the Commander in Chief should salute him--as should the nation.
