When a black 23-year old North Carolina man, Lakim Anthony Faust, shot four white people near a Wal-Mart last June, the story barely lasted 12 hours in the news cycle. Naturally, USA Today and various other sources covering the shooting left out key details like the races of the victims and the perpetrator. Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden was quoted at the time as saying the shooter picked his four targets "at random."

Investigators haven't found any links between Faust and the four victims, Aden said at a news conference Sunday. But evidence gathered during a search of Faust's home appears to show he had some plan for the attack and wanted to shoot a number of people, the chief said.

Well, that was all folks, until this past Monday when a grand jury indicted Faust on 14 charges including four counts of attempted first-degree murder. The motive? The signed documents stated the shooter picked his victims by "race, color, religion, nationality, or country of origin."

That made the CBS affiliate in Charlotte throw aside concerns with political correctness long enough to lead with the headline "Greenville Wal-Mart Shooter Picked Victims by Race." Why are Obama's slaves in the mainstream press suddenly willing to focus on the race factor in this black-on-white crime?

Faust, who is black, picked out his victims based on their race, according to the indictments. A man who shot four people near a Greenville Wal-Mart in June picked out his victims because they were white, according to several indictments handed down against him...The documents didn't specify why Faust wanted to shoot white people, and police have not talked about why he picked out his targets. Earlier reports had indicated that Faust was shooting "indiscriminately." [snip]

Police seized computers and documents from Faust's home that showed he had a plan for the attack and wanted to shoot a large number of people, investigators said.

This is quite a departure from the media's usual avoidance of black racism when it comes to a 'Son of Obama.' What's up? Turns out there may be a more chilling reason Faust decided to mow down innocent people with his pistol-grip shotgun. One detail CBS failed to mention.

When investigator[s] searched Faust's apartment at 217 Hartford St. in Greenville, they seized a copy of the Qur'an, the holy text of Islam, and other Muslim books, warrants stated. In addition, officers found a receipt for a shotgun bought from Doc's Gun and Pawn, as well as several boxes of shotgun shells and a gun lock, according to the warrants.

If CBS' intention, in their focus on racism, were to leave out the possibility Faust might be another young jihadist bent on taking out white infidels it would explain a great deal. In the aftermath of the Boston bombings and now the two American gunmen allegedly involved in the Nairobi mall massacre, the Islamic texts found in Faust's apartment may be too hot to handle.

Is Faust a radical Islamist? Was Greenville, North Carolina the site of yet another terrorist attack?
