Obama lowers his own grade

On December 13, 2009,  in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, President Obama gave himself  "a good, solid B" for his first year in office.  Summarized here in the  NY Daily News:

On what was billed as Oprah's "White House Christmas Special," Obama credited his administration with getting the economy on track, winding down the Iraq war and making the right call for a temporary surge in Afghanistan.

He also said America has "reset" its prestige in the world and made progress toward halting development of nuclear weapons in Iran and North Korea

Passage of health care reform would boost his grade to an A-"

Today, President Obama gave himself an "incomplete"

Dianne Derby: Your party says you inherited a bad situation. You've had three and a half years to fix it. What grade would you give yourself so far for doing that?

President Obama: You know I would say incomplete...but what I would say is the steps that we have taken in saving the auto industry, in making sure that college is more affordable and investing in clean energy and science and technology and research, those are all the things that we are going to need to grow over the long term.

Interesting that President Obama doesn't mention Obamacare in this self-assessment today.  Obamacare is what would have tipped him over into A- territory in his own estimation to Oprah.
