House to Take action on Ecuador

Citing, inter alia, human rights violations, corruption of its judiciary, failure to abide by an international arbitration tribunal ruling on its suit again Chevron, its role as a major narcotics transit, its dealings  with Iran Congressman Mack has introduced a bill expressing its disinclination to support for including Ecuador in a renewal of the Andean trade Preferences Act.

It is believed likely  that this will be voted on and approved after the House returns from Labor Day....around September 14, 2012.
