Complications From His Father (and Mother)
Doug Ross at Director Blue has clearly revealed the dubious maneuvers over at Obama's literary agency by noting that sometime between April 3rd and April 21st of 2007 someone at the agency was told to change presidential candidate Barack Obama's birthplace from Kenya to Hawaii.
What seems to have gone unnoticed however is the equally compelling metamorphosis regarding the origins of Obama's own parents. For example, from June 1998 to June 2007 Obama's literary agency repeated the following claim:
"[Obama] was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago."
On June 14 Obama's parents suddenly transformed from what Madame Mao used to call "capitalist sprouts" (successful finance minister and anthropologist) to the more proletarian friendly "socialist grass":
"[Obama] was born in Hawaii to a father who was raised in a small village in Kenya and a mother who grew up in small-town Kansas."
Heaven forbid, in other words, that Democrat candidate Obama is discovered with overly favorable bourgeois origins.
In her poignant account of growing up during Mao's Cultural Revolution (Red Azalea) Anchee Min describes the bizarre lengths Mao's Red Guards would go in order to expose anyone with highly suspect bourgeois tendencies. For Min, simply drinking a cup of water with "three fingers on the handle" was enough to earn her a serious reprimand from a fellow comrade who was suspicious of her proletarian origins:
"No, no, no. You are not drinking water right. He said I had two problems. He said that a person from the proletarian class would never hold a cup in such a superficial manner - using three fingers on the handle. He instructed me to grab the cup with my hand. He pointed out that a proletarian person would never drink water sip by sip like a Miss Bourgeoise with tons of spare time. He showed me how to drink down the water fast in one gulp and wipe my mouth with my sleeve."
During Obama's 2008 campaign Michelle Obama proudly claimed that "[Barack and I] left corporate America, which is a lot of what we're asking young people to do. Don't go in to corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we're encouraging our young people to do that."
Over half of young Americans with college degrees today cannot find jobs. Should have been kinder to Miss Bourgeoisie.
