Celebrate Veterans Day today
Today is Veterans Day, when all Americans should honor the devotion, service, and sacrifices of those who have protected our country in uniform. Their devotion to the Constitutional Republic whose freedoms we enjoy has inspired various forms of commemoration today.
A group named The Veteran Defenders of America, along with co-sponsoring civilian group The Unites States Patriots Union, LLC, have organized and put forth a Call-to-Action for every oath-taker and every true American patriot to rally at the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. on this 2011 Veteran's Day (11-11-11). The foundation of this Constitutional Restoration Rally is described in its document entitled A Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic (.pdf) (a companion HTML version can be found at this Post & Email's article).
This rally to restore the Constitutional Republic is to be a peaceful one, in which those participating are expected to abide by a defined Code of Conduct (.pdf). The purpose of the rally is summarized in the Declaration:
We demand an end to government corruption, an end to despotic leadership in D.C., an end to the current assault on all decent and honest American taxpayers, businesses, and honorable public servants of the people. We demand the peaceful return of the people's government, and we will remain resolute in the defense of the Constitution and the United States of America until the people can once again feel secure in their nation and government.
The very foundation of America is being assailed by anarchists, atheists, socialists, communists and Marxists. It is time for all those who have taken government oaths to reaffirm and act upon them. Oaths taken before God are not to be entered into lightly. In this article, Mr. Jim O'Neill details actual oaths various members of the government currently take, and he provides some insightful observations about America's precarious situation and the need for unified action.
The march to Washington rally along with the succeeding movement is not only for active & former service members and other employees who have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution, but also for all patriotic citizens, regardless of political persuasion, who understand the egregious state of our country and long to return to the rule of law. Let all of us who love our country and its established values join arms today and press for the restoration of our country. Time is short.
Again from the Declaration:
We are openly calling for the American people to draw a final line in the sand and take a moral and righteous stand for the Constitutional Republic, the rule of law and the future of freedom and liberty.
The time to be tolerant and silent has passed and the time for serious action has arrived. Only the people can restore the Constitution as the Supreme Law of this Land. We must do it peacefully if at all possible and our Founders provided all the tools necessary for peaceful corrections of a ship set off course by internal enemies.
All citizens who want to see the Constitutional Republic restored immediately are encouraged to immediately join one of these unified organizations and become directly engaged in our joint missions to restore America to that shining city on a hill, and beacon of freedom and liberty around the world. We the People are the solution!
