Huffpo leading Dems into the swamp

Rick Perry was a lousy student. So says the Huffington Post and has posted Perry's Texas A&M transcript to back their claim. Imagine the gleeful chortling among their liberal readership as they envision this revelation to be a fearful blow to Perry's impending candidacy. It can't be easy to be a Democrat watching your Great Hope sinking in the quicksand with no idea of where to find a rope while the opposition has a Hollywood-handsome hero standing out there on solid Texas economic soil with a record that shows he just may know how to drain that swamp.

I wonder if the folks at Huffpo have any clue as to what they may have started here? True, they have shown that Rick Perry was a poor student, but in doing so, they are trying to make the case that a candidate's past matters. What then, if and when Perry jumps in with his past matriculation already public record, thanks to Huffpo, can they say about Obama who has been allowed to serve four years without the same scrutiny?  Democrats and lefties seem to be immune to charges of blatant hypocrisy but then there's blatant and then there's blatant.  While the media has been able to keep much of America ignorant of liberal hypocrisy and bias, it is becoming ever more difficult to contain their perfidy. The new, Internet-based media is quick to sense blood in the swamp water and has a growing list of fleshless carcasses drifting into the depths to prove its new-found lethality, Weiner and Wu being but the latest two. And these Web warriors are equally effective at debunking spurious claims from the left as Dan Rather and others can attest.

Without even announcing, Rick Perry is carving out a sizable chunk in the Republican primary field. Should he get the nomination, don't you just know that his supporters will be demanding of Obama's team, "Where's the transcript?" Admittedly, the Dems can stonewall it but think how that's going to look to all those who are already pulling away from Obama? Worse, how will that be taken by the large segment of independents who will ultimately be the election deciders?

And if the Democrats do refuse to release Obama's academic records that will be admission by them that such records don't matter, that it's the man and what he's done since graduating that matters, not his GPA. And bingo! right there they have opened themselves up to a comparison of accomplishments by the contenders, which can't bold well for them. True, their guy has the Big One, but prior to that, not much in the way of successful achievements that can be demonstrated: unsubstantiated collegiate honors; no military service, not even ROTC or reserves; community organizing involving dubious leftist associations, undocumented accomplishments as an attorney and teacher; lackluster performance as a state legislator; ditto as a U.S. Senator; and finally, the past three years.

Perry, on the other hand, will have a long history of expanding successes, all of which are on the public record.  Moreover, he will be able to stand on a transcript of successful leadership for the same period where Obama's lack of same is glaringly obvious.  The main reason the left is going after the unannounced Perry already is that they recognize the truth of all this.  They know Perry will be their guy's worst nightmare because of the glaring inequalities that such comparisons will expose. And that word, expose, is one the Democrats and their media bootlickers really don't want coming anywhere close to the uncharted life of Barack Obama.

Huffpo may have led the Dems into a swamp they really should want to stay out of.
