I am a patriotic American who is terribly depressed and angry about the state of the country. Everywhere I look I see decline and rot and America's values and spirit under attack. I have been a keen student of American history and politics for well over 50 years and I have never seen the country in such poor shape or been this discouraged.

President Obama is to blame for this.

In trying to fundamentally change America and remake it in his own image he has, among other things, ruined the economy, flouted and ignored the rule of law (especially as it pertains to him and the office of President), allowed an Islamic fifth column to take root which wants to change our way of life and make America into a country ruled by Islam, practiced politics of sleaze and division, failed to defend our civil liberties and basic values and run roughshod over our institutions, denigrated us on the world stage, turned us into an international laughingstock that no one takes seriously anymore, emboldened and strengthened our enemies and caused our allies and friends to re-evaluate their relationship to us, abdicated our responsibility as leader and defender of the free world, weakened our military to the point where it may no longer be possible to protect us or anyone else, turned America from a superpower into a wounded, declining, vulnerable former power to be taken advantage of and eventually destroyed and brought the world to the brink of war through his dithering, weakness and inability to grasp reality and realpolitic, particularly in the Middle East but elsewhere as well. In doing all this, and more, he has lied through his teeth and shown a complete disregard and disdain for the American people and America itself. The country is on its knees and President Obama has put it there.

I know I am not alone in feeling depressed and angry. I know there are many others who feel exactly as I do.

The question is how can all this depression and anger be channeled constructively. Only two ways really. Since we can't remove him from office immediately we all have to do everthing we can within the bounds of the law to make sure he doesn't get re-elected. We also have to do everything we can within the bounds of the law to mitigate the damage he's already done and limit any further damage...challenge and fight him at every turn and don't let him get away with any more distortions and anti-American crap.

A real honest to goodness heartfelt commitment to America. That would be the best possible way to celebrate July 4th.
