Bibi Diplomacy
On NBC Nightly News on Tuesday evening, Andrea Mitchell, in an interview with Bibi Netanyahu, asked the Prime Minister if he was "lecturing" President Obama in the Oval Office last Friday. The media largely claimed this was the case as they observed Obama's perturbed body language and the PM's stern words.
Netanyahu responded he wasn't lecturing Obama, but was explaining the situation in his own country. Mitchell then asked the PM two times whether he felt the world was "isolating" Israel. He didn't answer her question, but went on to tell her the President had called Israel a "great nation;" and he added "America is also a great nation."
But the piece de resistance came when the PM continued in this vein and told Mitchell:
I greatly respect the American people and the Office of the President.
Is there an American Netanyahu residing somewhere in our great nation?
